The concept of radicalisation is something we often like to associate with extremists around the globe, but as this witty yet worrying short from unsigned filmmaker Dylan Redford goes to show, even everyday office workers can be drawn to the edge.
Narrated by and starring Redford, Emergency Action Plan is an increasingly surreal and reflexive look at how the reinforcement of crisis messages can send a 'normal' person to extreme lengths.
Despite its serious overtones, the fast-paced short fills its 9-minute runtime with an overload of cinematic styles, utilising montage to great effect and somehow drawing a laugh out of the darkest of situations.
Confidently drawn together and honed by Redford, the film is an impressive showcase of a director to keep an eye on.
