Australian digital platform Memories is behind this film which showcases their new feature, Future Messages.
The two-minute spot, created by The Monkeys and directed by Goodoil's Curtis Hill, is a heart-rending story of a young boy who loses his grandfather. Through his young life he is reminded of instances during which his grandfather was there for him, yearning for his presence and regretful at his death, still sending text messages to him even though he knows no one is there to receive them. On his 18th birthday though, he receives something in return.
