While some governments and businesses are busy greenwashing and yakking about environmental calamity but not actually doing diddly squat, there are others that are trying to address the fact that the planet's on fire/melting/poisoned/possibly a tad on the doomed side.
This beautifully shot film, The Clock's Ticking – created by Oslo agency Try, directed by Kavar Singh and produced by Motion Blur – starts off with broadcasts of the UN's warning – which came in October 2018 – that the world's carbon emissions need to be cut by nearly half by 2030 if we're to avoid worsening meteorological madness, famine and social collapse.
It then depicts engineers working on part of the solution – clean energy technology such as wind power. Intrepidly traversing Norway's majestic wilds, we follow the men as they scope out wind farm locations and erect a giant digital clock that ticks down the minutes to the 2030 deadline. Scary stuff.
