Directed by Benji Weinstein through Finch, An Unbreakable Connection portrays how Toyota's iconic HiLux vehicle has been an integral member of the family for Australian households since 1968.
The cinematic spot features a family who watch in fear as their father's ghost causes chaos in the middle of the night. In classic scary movie fashion, lights flicker and books fly off shelves as he turns the house upside down in a frustrated frenzy.
In an amusing gear shift from horror to humour, the ghost grabs a set of keys and drives away in a red pickup truck to the tune of Norman Greenbaum’s Spirit in The Sky.
The campaign draws on the brand’s touching idea of the unbreakable connection between a HiLux and its owner.
